Shinese M. Collins is an author, speaker, and transformational Leadership & Mindshift Coach with over 25 years of corporate leadership experience. As the founder and CEO of Your Purpose Starts Now, she empowers high-achieving women to lead from within, live on purpose, and command every space they enter—without shrinking, burning out, or seeking approval.
With a background that spans telecommunications, matrix leadership, and organizational development, Shinese has led high-impact teams, spearheaded national marketing strategies, and served as a trusted mentor and coach within corporate, community, and ministry settings. Her experience includes key leadership roles at Cox Communications, where she excelled in product and project management, customer experience, and regional marketing across the Virginia market and beyond.
Her work is grounded in the principles of emotional intelligence, executive presence, and authentic leadership—a unique trifecta she uses to help women unlearn performance-based success and realign with purpose-fueled impact.
A defining moment came in 2016, after the back-to-back loss of her mother, grandmother, and uncle within 33 days. Already a widow since 2008, this season of compounded grief became a spiritual awakening. Journaling became her lifeline, and through it, she discovered a sacred thread: hope. Her pain gave way to purpose, leading to the birth of her coaching practice.
Today, Shinese is the creator of the Zone of Purpose™ Framework, a proprietary model designed to help women shed imposter syndrome, lead with soul, and expand beyond performance into sustainable leadership. Whether through coaching, consulting, keynote speaking, or mastermind facilitation, her mission is to activate leaders from the inside out and build legacies rooted in resilience and purpose.
Shinese is also a Certified Life and Executive Coach (CaPP Institute), a Six Sigma Green Belt, a Certified Practitioner of Everything DiSC® and The Five Behaviors® (Wiley), and DEI-certified (Jennifer Brown Consulting). She holds an M.A. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Liberty University, an MBA from Averett University, and a B.S. in Accounting from Norfolk State University.
She is the author of Resilient on Purpose and Shattered Silence: Breaking Barriers to Become Vocal, Visible, and Victorious in Life, and serves as an instructor at the Dr. Geoffrey V. Guns Christian Leadership School in Virginia. Her work in both corporate and spiritual spaces bridges strategy and soul, helping women reclaim their voice and rise unapologetically.
